How to Make a Chart for Your Paper or Presentation
Most student papers and class presentations require visualizations of data, but complex tools like Excel or Google Sheets can be overkill for a simple chart. This generator lets you make a clean, professional bar, line, or pie chart in 30 seconds, no account required.
- Pick the chart type you need: bar chart for categorical comparisons, line chart for trends over time, pie chart for proportion breakdowns.
- Enter a title for your chart (optional, appears at the top).
- Enter labels separated by commas (for example: "Jan,Feb,Mar,Apr" for months).
- Enter the corresponding values separated by commas (for example: "12,19,15,22" for monthly sales or data points).
- Click "Generate Chart" to see the preview, then click "Download PNG" to save the image to your device for use in your paper or presentation.
How the Chart Is Rendered
Charts are rendered using Canvas API in your browser, so you get a crisp, high-resolution PNG image that looks professional in papers and presentations. The color scheme uses accessible, high-contrast colors that look good both in color and when printed in grayscale.
All rendering happens locally in your browser — no data is sent to a server, so your private data never leaves your device. The downloaded image has no watermark, so you can use it directly in your work.
FAQ
What resolution is the downloaded image?
The downloaded PNG is 2x resolution for crisp display on both screen and print. It looks sharp at all sizes and is suitable for both digital presentations and printed papers.
Is there a limit to how many data points I can add?
For bar and line charts, you can add up to 20 data points; for pie charts, up to 8 slices — beyond that, the chart becomes unreadable. This limit is intentional to keep the output clean and professional.
Can I customize the colors?
Currently the color scheme is fixed to a set of accessible, high-contrast colors. Custom color palettes will be added in a future update based on user feedback.
Is there a watermark on the downloaded image?
No. The downloaded PNG has no watermark, logo, or branding, so you can use it directly in your paper, presentation, or website without attribution.
Will my data be saved anywhere?
No. All chart rendering happens locally in your browser. None of your labels, values, or chart data is ever sent to a server, and nothing is stored after you leave the page.
